A Soviet VVA-14 ekranoplan, or Wing-In-Ground (WIG) Effect vehicle, demonstrates it's abilities of speed and economy by skimming the surface of the sea. One of the prototype designs of Roberto Bartini, and built by Beriev, it was the size of a Hercules transport and the only design of its type able to fly at altitude.
