Radfan Launch

A DH Sea Vixen of 892RNAS launches off the deck of HMS Centaur during operations in the Gulf of Aden in the mid-60s. The heat and flat calm off the coast of Yemen often made such launchings hazardous,as the aircraft fights to gain height in a flat-trajectory launch. Commissioned by the aircrew. Oil, 20 x 30 ins.
